Our shades are manually operated or motorized systems. Manually operated shades use hidden pulleys and pull cords that tie off to cleats mounted to a wall or beam. Motorized systems operate by wall switch or radio frequency remote control.
All of our solarium shades, sunroom shades and greenhouse shades operate on wheels which ride in pre-existing shade track imbedded in your room's glazing bars or we fabricate decorative add-on track specifically for your installation. Our Track Shades use gliders that run inside our custom fitting add-on track.
Solar shades (screen shades) are roller shades, require no track, cover vertical window surfaces and are operated by bead chain or motorization.
Our solarium and sunroom shades or blinds are available in a variety of durable, moisture-proof fabrics, textures, weaves and attractive fade-resistant designer colors. The choice of fabrics gives you the ability to control the amount of privacy, degree of transparency, heat reflectivity and heat retention.

Thermal Designs solarium shades and blinds are also designed with low pitched solarium and greenhouse models in mind. Where gravity may need a little help in lowering, our shades are operated by hand using a simple shade wand against the shade handles to easily push them down and up.
